THE CANOVA HOUSE, circa 1840
Like the Dow House, this house was built by the Canova family during Florida's Territorial Period.
Another prominent St. Augustine family, the de Medicis, operated a boarding house in this structure for a number of years around the turn of the 19th century.

The oldest part of the house includes coquina walls (made from a native shellstone), tabby floors, and faux-painted stairs and fireplace surround.
