THE DOW HOUSE, circa 1839
Originally constructed by the Canova family on the lot just north of the Murat House on St. George Street, this frame vernacular Florida Territorial Period house was moved to its current location by Mary Hayden circa 1905.
Ms. Hayden, the widow of a prosperous hotel owner, built a large Colonial Revival house in its place on St. George Street.
